SOS Advocacy Campaign

WWOMBB & Health Advocates assists individuals, who have experienced medical neglect or abuse from healthcare providers, facilities or staff, in crafting effective, personal complaints and file them with the appropriate authoritative agencies. For far too long, neglectful and abusive practices in healthcare have largely gone unaccounted for because of individuals being ignorant – not only of their right to formally complain, but the entire complaint process itself. There are certain industry standard terms and idioms that are specifically used in healthcare that are very important when it comes to crafting an effective complaint. If you have experienced substandard care from any provider or staff of any medical institution, you have options. Virtually all medical institutions and facilities have patient complaint departments. However, many patients fail to take advantage of this benefit to air their grievances and advocate for accountability and restitution.

  We help you SPEAK UP by offering direct advocacy that involves assisting you in writing complaints about the substandard care you experienced, and filing them with agencies such as insurance companies, hospitals, medical boards, and public health agencies. The process of filing these complaints can bring about negative,  emotional feelings as you relive the experience all over again. This alone can prevent people from seeking justice. We offer technical and moral support, helping you tell your story and speak truth to power and bring accountability and consequences to these healthcare practices.

Technical support:

We help to evaluate your experience and let you know what level of complaint it warrants: direct to provider, direct to facility, direct to insurance company, direct to medical board or other public health oversight agency.

We do the research and help you navigate where, how, and when to file your complaint with the appropriate authorities.

We can take a rough draft letter that you create, proof-read, and edit, and prepare it for complaint filing.

We can take your verbal recording of your negative experience with all the details and draft a letter for you, proofread, edit and prepare it for complaint filing.

Moral Support:

We can go over any response you receive from the complaint department or provider, motivate and empower your, and help you decide on your next steps.
